Bio

Spyros Tragoudas received his Diploma in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1986, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1988 and 1991. He is a Professor and Director of the School of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). He is the Director of the NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) for Interconnected, Distributed Embedded Applications, and Systems (IDEAS) at its SIUC site. He is also the Director of the Consortium for Embedded Systems at SIUC. He has directed another NSF IUCRC at SIUC for thirteen years.  He has held prior tenured appointments with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department faculty at the University of Arizona and the Computer Science Department at SIUC. His research interests are in embedded systems, electronic design automation, and machine learning.
