Bio

Liudmyla Slavova is Doctor of Sciences (Linguistics), head of the Theory and Practice of Translation from English Department, Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She is the author (and co-author) of more than 120 journal articles, book chapters, textbooks. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Legal Translation, Comparative Grammar of English and Ukrainian, Comparative Lexicology of English and Ukrainian and others; supervised a number of successfully accomplished master theses and 3 PhDs. She is a member of the academic board for defending PhD and doctoral theses (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv); a member of Journal Editorial Boards of some Ukrainian journals, a program committee member of national and international conferences. The scope of her research interests includes translation studies, political discourse, linguistic personality, communicative linguistics, comparative linguistics, methods of teaching.
