Bio My name is Olena Yurchuk. I was born on March 6, 1980 in Zhytomyr. I am a citizen of Ukraine. In 1997 I entered Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University. I studied the Ukrainian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology. I graduated from the University in 2003 with a Master's degree in Pedagogical Education, a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature. In 2004 I entered postgraduate school. In 2007 I defended PhD thesis on "Neo-Baroque Tendenciens in the Ukrainian Literature of the 20th Century." In 2012 I got an Associate Professor's certificate. In 2006 I was accepted as an assistant lecturer at the Department of the Ukrainian Literature. In 2008 I was transferred to the position of Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literary Studies and Comparative Studies. Since September 2011 until today I have been a Head of the Department of Ukrainian Literary Studies and Comparative Studies of Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University (since 2020 – the Department of the Ukrainian and Foreign Literature). In 2015 I defended doctorate thesis on "Specific Feature of Formation and Strategies of Representation of the Anti-colonial and Postcolonial Literary Discourses in Ukrainian Literature." In 2016 I got a diploma of Doctor of Sciences in Philology. I have written about 70 scientific works, including two monographs: - Modern Baroque Strategy. Modified Features of the Baroque in the Ukrainian Literature of the late 20th Century: monograph. - Zhytomyr, 2008. - 152 p. - In the Shadow of the Empire: The Ukrainian Literature in the Light of Postcolonial Theory: monograph. - K.: Publishing House "Academy", 2013. - 224 p. I have scientific articles in professional publications of Ukraine and Poland (languages of publications: Ukrainian, Polish, English) and I participated in All-Ukrainian and International scientific conferences. |
