Bio MARTHA RIVERA – PESQUERA, Ph.D. Martha Rivera-Pesquera to obtain her MBA at IPADE Business School and, on completion of her study, joined the school as an Assistant Professor of the Marketing Department. After some years of teaching at IPADE, she moved to IESE Business School, Spain for her PhD. Her dissertation investigated the relationship between organizational justice and salesperson performance in the consumer-packaged goods sector. Her work has appeared in academic journals including the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management, International Journal of Bank Marketing, and Harvard Business Review. Martha has taught in several Executive Education Programs in several European and Latin American countries. She has also conducted consulting projects in over 30 companies of different sizes, industries, for profit and not-for-profit. After many years as Secretary-General of IPADE Business School, Martha founded the school’s Women at Top Management Research Center. The center is focused on understanding women leadership and disseminating insights that could help the development of more women to occupy leadership positions. In 2010, Dr. Rivera-Pesquera was distinguished and selected by the Eisenhower Fellowship organization to participate in the first international Women’s Leadership Program in 2010. She spent a trimester travelling in the U.S. learning about the best practices on these topics. In collaboration with institutions such as Value for Women and Aspen Network for Developing Entrepreneurs, she co-authored a publication with the title Creating Opportunities Strengthening the Ecosystem for Women Entrepreneurs in México. She is also conducting research with a Harvard Business School professor on Organizational practices, intra-household bargaining and career-life outcomes. She has published more than 20 case studies, teaching notes and some other teaching materials. In 2017, she published two co-authored books: Entrepreneurial Selling: Facts Every Entrepreneur Must Know and Re Evolución Digital: Lidera el futuro digital de tu empresa... antes de que desaparezca. In addition to chairing the Marketing Department (until 2014), Martha has been member of the Executive Committee of IPADE (2006-2015), member of IPADE’s Board of Directors (2006-2015), member of the Universidad Panamericana’s Council (2006-2015), among other positions she has being appointed to. Since 2010, Martha is the Mexican representative for the Internationally Accepted Marketing Standards Board (IASMB). In 2015-2016 she spent sabbatical year at Babson College as Visiting Research Scholar. Martha is actively involved in with leadership programs for young privileged and underprivileged women. She has advised the board and management of low-income girls’ school in Mexico. A sport enthusiastic, she has run 11 marathons, participated in Cozumel’s Half Ironman, and played many other sports (tennis, golf, etc.) |
