Bio Mayoor Mohan, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at the VCU School of Business and holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Mohan joined VCU in 2013 and his research focuses on making normative recommendations to managers on how they can improve their firm's product and brand strategies. He has published articles on these topics in premier journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, and Journal of Product and Brand Management. Additionally, leading outlets like Forbes.com and The Aspen Institute have featured his research. He serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Business Research and is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science. Dr. Mohan is an AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow (2009), the 2019 VCU School of Business Distinguished Scholar, and the 2012 recipient of the Phillips Dissertation Fellowship Award from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Mohan has taught courses in innovation strategy and promotional strategy at the undergraduate and executive MBA levels. He is also actively involved with VCU's da Vinci Center in his role as a faculty mentor. In 2018, he was awarded the VCU School of Business Distinguished Teacher Award and in 2009 received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Associate Award for Marketing while at Oklahoma State University. He has mentored over 25 student consulting projects for over 18 firms and organizations based in the Richmond metroplex that address key marketing and communication challenges.
