Instructions for Presenters – FAQ

Do I need to register?

Yes. All authors must register in advance for the event. You can register here: https://www.possibilitystudies.net/event/possibility-studies-2025-tickets/

The registration desk will be open every morning before the start of the conference for badge collection.

 

What do I need to submit before the conference?

Nothing! There is no requirement to submit slides or materials in advance. If you'd like, you may upload your slides to EasyChair, but this is entirely optional.

 

How long is my presentation slot?

All individual presentations (including papers, toolkits, and rising stars) are 15 minutes each, plus 5 minutes for questions. Please keep your talk within this time to allow for transitions and discussion.

 

What format should I use for my presentation?

Most presenters use PowerPoint or a similar format. You're welcome to use any format that works with the room setup.

 

Will equipment be provided?

Each room will have a screen and a computer. You can either:

  • Bring your own laptop (highly recommended)
  • Or use the room computer with a USB key

We will have standard USB-C to HDMI adapters available for Mac users.

Please note: We cannot guarantee that sound will work properly through the speakers. You're welcome to test this in advance, but the rooms are small enough that most presentations will work fine without audio.

 

Will someone be there to help?

Yes! A conference assistant will be in the room 10 minutes before each session begins to assist with setup or technical questions.

 

Can I present remotely?

No. This is an in-person conference. If you’re unable to attend, we won’t be able to accommodate a remote presentation. However, we run an online-only event every January and would love to consider your contribution there.

 

Instructions for Workshop Organisers

  • Your assigned room will be available 30 minutes before your workshop begins.
  • A conference assistant will be there 15 minutes before the start if you need help with setup.
  • Please leave the room as you found it—we ask that everything be packed up and cleared within 30 minutes after your session ends.
