Throughout the conference, we invite you to join our collaborative art workshops running during coffee and lunch breaks. Open to everyone, these sessions offer a creative way to pause, connect, and explore the possibilities of collective imagination.
Writing Possible Worlds
Step into the future with our five-day creative writing workshop where participants will imagine and build speculative worlds, one layer at a time.
-
Each day brings a new prompt focused on a different aspect of world-building — from envisioning a disruptive event, to designing new societies, and exploring the stakes that emerge.
-
Writers will not only create their own visions, but also collaborate by expanding on each other’s worlds, weaving together modular narratives that blend individual and collective creativity.
-
The journey will culminate in a shared Exhibit of Stories, celebrating the many possible worlds brought to life — and the hopeful voices within them.
Come for one session or many — every day offers a fresh start and a new layer to imagine!
Woolinschool: Crafting a Tapestry of Possibility
Join us in creating a vibrant, living artwork in Woolinschool, a four-day collaborative wool workshop.
-
Using natural Galway wool and colorful Donegal yarns, participants will craft individual woolen coils that come together to form a large tapestry where trees — symbols of possibility — come to life in shades of green, orange, yellow, and brown.
-
As the tapestry grows, so too will a shared sense of creativity, reflection, and community.
-
The finished piece will remain on display during the conference before being permanently installed at DCU, celebrating heritage, sustainability, and collective optimism rooted in nature.
