Abstract

This study delves into the intricate relationship between cultural context and the

creation of postmodern poetry, specifically among students at Jatiya Kabi Kazi

Nazrul Islam University. Postmodern poetry, characterized by its departure from

traditional forms and its engagement with diverse cultural influences, serves as a

lens through which students navigate and interpret the complexities of their

surroundings. Through a qualitative analysis of poetry produced by students,

supplemented by interviews and observations, this research explores how cultural

context shapes their poetic expressions. It investigates the ways in which historical,

social, and cultural elements intertwine to inform poetic themes, styles, and

language choices. Additionally, the study examines how these young poets

negotiate their identities within a rapidly changing cultural landscape, grappling

with issues of tradition, globalization, and personal experience. By shedding light

on the dynamic interplay between cultural context and poetic creation, this

research contributes to a deeper understanding of postmodern poetry and its

significance in contemporary society.
