![]() Title:Standardization of Multi-Physics Interfaces and Model Exchange Mechanisms Conference:DVCon Europe 2025 Tags:Model exchange mechanisms, Multi-Physics interfaces and Standardisation Abstract: Abstract: The increasing prevalence of tightly-coupled, multi-physics systems across domains such as electronics, electromagnetics, thermal, mechanical, and fluidic design necessitates standardized methods for model interchange and tool interoperability. Current industrial workflows rely on heterogeneous, proprietary interfaces and loosely defined integration schemes, leading to inefficiencies in co-simulation fidelity, model portability, and system verification. To address this gap, we propose a workshop to define the scope and objectives of a prospective Accellera Working Group dedicated to the standardization of interface definitions and model exchange formats for multi-physics design environments. The workshop will convene stakeholders from industry, academia, and tool vendors to: 1 Identify core interoperability challenges in multi-physics workflows; 2 Examine existing solutions (e.g., FMI, Modelica, SystemC, SystemC-AMS) and their limitations in heterogeneous domain coupling; 3 Delineate candidate requirements for a unified interface abstraction supporting cross-domain semantics, co-simulation control, and metadata exchange; 4 Formulate initial charter language, use case classes, and a phase-wise deliverable roadmap for the proposed working group; 5 Assess opportunities for alignment with existing Accellera standards and external consortia. Format: The session will comprise structured presentations, moderated technical panels, and focused breakout discussions. Deliverables will include a consolidated summary of findings and a draft statement of work. Organizers: Sumit Adhikari, Heiko Schick and Daniel Hedberg, Huawei Technologies Dusseldorf GmbH. Target Audience: Professionals engaged in multi-domain system modeling, EDA interoperability, standardization, and simulation tool development. Cross-sector participation from semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, and industrial automation domains is anticipated.
