Abstract:
Introduction: Especially in adolescence, sexuality can be understood as an intrinsic component of the person, being fundamental in the health of young people because it transcends the merely biological aspect, also manifesting itself as a psychological and social phenomenon, strongly influenced by beliefs and values personal and family, moral norms and social taboos. Thus, considering the potential of the Health at School Program (PSE), recommended by the Ministry of Health linked to the Ministry of Education of our country, it is relevant to understand how school adolescents have access to information related to sexuality and infections Sexually Transmitted (STI), considering that the adolescent public has one of the highest rates of STI, in addition to demonstrating greater exposure factors compared to the adult audience, as well as high rates of treatment abandonment in addition to the difficulty of access. Methodology: This is a literature review research in the integrative review mode. This work aimed to analyze how health education practices in relation to STIs occur with high school students based on the journals published in the last 6 years. As for the results, the knowledge of school adolescents is out of date in terms of sexuality and STI, due to the lack of approach in the school environment, resulting in greater exposure to infections and vulnerabilities related to self-care. The practice of health education can be implemented in a way that parents, teachers and health professionals participate together with students, emphasizing the relevance of the insertion of these professionals in order to develop actions that emphasize prevention and promotion practices with an emphasis on sexuality and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
