Amit Kumar Singh is a PhD candidate in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at IIT BHU Varanasi. He received M.Tech degree in metallurgical engineering from IIT BHU Varanasi in 2018, B.Tech degree in metallurgical and materials engineering from NIT Durgapur in 2016. He has been a researcher in ferrous extractive metallurgy in Industrial Metallurgy division at IIT BHU Varanasi since 2018. His Ph.D research is concerned with use of renewable biomass for green steel production through DRI-EAF route. He has worked in direct reduction of fluxed iron ore using coal during his M.Tech. His research interests lie in green and sustainable steelmaking using biomass and hydrogen.
