Yaroslava Kodliuk was born on November 22, 1958.In 1976 she graduated from Velyka Plavucha SecondarySchool with a gold medal. In 1976–1978 she studied atChortkiv Pedagogical School (diploma with honors). From1978 to 1982 she was a student of the Faculty of PrimarySchool Teacher Training of Ternopil State PedagogicalInstitute (now Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk NationalPedagogical University), and received a diploma withhonors.

For four years (1982–1986) she worked as a primary school teacher at TernopilSecondary School. Since 1986 she has worked at Ternopil Volodymyr HnatiukNational Pedagogical University: in 1993 she defended her PhD thesis, received thetitle of Associate Professor in 1996; since 2005 – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences,since 2006 – Professor. In 2006 she established a school textbook researchlaboratory, which she still heads today.Her research interests include: didactics of primary school, theory and practiceof school textbooks, training of future primary school teachers, higher schoolpedagogy.
