Raul Ferrer-Conill is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media and Social Sciences at the University of Stavanger, Norway. His research investigates digital journalism, audience engagement, and the structural changes of play in society. Raul is the author of 'Gamifying the News: Exploring the Introduction of Game Elements into Digital Journalism,' and is the winner of the Swedish Association for Media and Communication Research (FSMK) best dissertation award. His doctoral thesis investigated the use of gamification in digital news production. Raul currently serves in the editorial board of Media and Communication and Digital Journalism..
