Ph.D, Volodymyr Podhurenko, Associate Professor of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (Mykolaiv, Ukraine), Honored Inventor of Ukraine, Honored Power Engineer of Ukraine, current member of the Academy of Technological Sciences of Ukraine (ATS).

Volodymyr Podhurenko was born in 1937, received a Candidate of Engineering Sciences dergee in 1983 from the Nikolaev Shipbuilding Institute (NSI), specialty "ship power plants and their elements". A number of experimental and theoretical researches have been carried out to improve the design of GTE drives, to study their dynamics and strength, to develop unconventional and renewable energy. As a result of these researches, 120 articles, 12 books, 2 textbooks were published, 10 inventor's certificates and patents for inventions were received, 4 rationalization proposals were introduced into production.

V. Podhurenko was a director of the start-up complex of the pilot Adjigolskaya wind power plant and the first industrial wind power plant on the basis of wind turbines of megawatt size in the Northern Black Sea Region.
