THEMES AND TOPICS

With the theme Impacts – Interests – Interactions, we want to acknowledge that social life cycle studies have diverse methods, are conducted in different contexts and with different effects. While there are social impacts related to decisions, also the social organisation of the life cycle matters for sustainability change. We invite examination of SLCA from methodological as well as social, critical and practical perspectives.

The main themes are:

  • Theme 1: Methods for social impacts
  • Theme 2: Methodological interests for various applications
  • Theme 3: Scientific positioning and methodological interactions
  • Theme 4: Impacts in practice, documented improvements and progress
  • Theme 5: On social interests in the product chain
