Ukrainian Students' Digital Competencies: Various Aspects of Formation and Impact on Students' Learning Achievements
PRESENTER: Mariia Mazorchuk

ABSTRACT. In different countries and economics, we can observe the difference in learning students’ achievements depending on their digital competencies. There are some international studies, such as PISA (Program International Student Assessment) and ICILS (International Computer and Information Literacy Study), which allow to evaluate some associative relationship and to make a conclusion about using digital technologies in the learning environment. In 2018 Ukraine participated in PISA for the first time in the Paper-Based Assessment (PBA) format and didn’t participate in ICILS. Now we don't have any national or international studies, which will be able to answer a question about readiness Ukrainian students to Computer-Based Assessment (CBA), only we have some results from PISA 2018. This research presents analyze the PISA 2018 Database and some other re-sults of studies. We studied how digital technologies influence on the student's achievement of main literacy domains. So, in other words, we wanted to evaluate how the digital environment impacts students' readiness for effective implementa-tion in a changing digital world. The results, which were gotten on Ukraine and other countries are useful for the formation of key politics for Ukraine concerning the development of digital competencies of Ukrainian students.

Pedagogical design of digital learning for future art teachers in a virtual classroom

ABSTRACT. The educational approach, drawing on a plural coexistence of diverse learning theories such as connectivism, experiential learning, project-based learning and, most of all, on TEDD educational model in the virtual art-class have been presented in this article. The development of the learning process of professional training of future musicians of is guided through the creation of a multimedia and interactive path with instructions, references, activities and tasks both on computers connected to the Internet and on a variety of digital devices, such as mobile phones, tablet and laptop. In the first stage of study learners are gradually introduced into the digital didactics world, as they are required to deal with a set of digital tools and products. Additionally, they have to create some specific didactic products leading up to the second stage, where they will create their digital didactics project in a Mistakes Laboratory. The advantage of the proposed approach is that, what at the beginning of each session the digital expert uploads and shares chunks of the DDIT content on the didactic platform. Then, learners autonomously explore the content, select and experience the activities they prefer. From time to time the digital activity is interrupted and students have share their ideas and discuss their doubts. Each session ends with the introduction of a short new chunk of blended and flipped learning path to be explored as homework on the platform. It will partially reveal the content of the following meeting. In this way the teachers are inductively engaged as much in the flipped lesson instructional strategy as in real samples of digital artistic didactics.

Improvement of Teaching Quality in the View of a Resource-Based Approach
PRESENTER: Vira Liubchenko

ABSTRACT. In the paper, we discuss a way to improve the teaching quality with the resource-based approach. The solution includes a model of teaching quality, a method of student-centered teaching, and means for analyzing and managing the unobservable quality characteristics. We propose to consider the education process as a system with negative feedback, where the deviation of the values of the educational process characteristics from the normal ones diagnoses the type of problem that violates the normal state of the educational process. The formalization of the unobservable quality characteristics of the educational process is carried out. The means for measuring the values of these characteristics on different scales are considered, and examples of their use are given. As well, we provide a formalized description of the teaching process and a set of questions for student evaluation of teaching. An algorithm for the creation of a questionnaire, which covers the characteristics of various components of the teaching process, has been developed. Finally, we describe the task of informational diagnostic for student evaluation results and the catalog of teaching tactics as the means for systematically forming quality improvement activities.

The use of virtual physics laboratories in professional training: the analysis of the academic achievements dynamics
PRESENTER: Marina Drushlyak

ABSTRACT. The development of information technology cause the emergence of different classes of software such as virtual environment for various experiments. Among such a software, there are virtual physics laboratories that are means for educational, scien-tific and professional activities of physicists, physics teachers, computer science teachers and IT specialists. Numerous pedagogical findings confirm both positive dynamics and negative impact of such software on educational achievements. Given the ambiguity of the conclusions, we have formulated the problem: is it advisable to use virtual physics laboratories instead of relevant physics devices in the study of physics disciplines. The search for an answer to this question caused the organization and carrying out the pedagogical experiment, the results of which are presented in the article. Students of specialties “014 Secondary education (Physics)”, “014 Secondary education (Computer Science)”, “122 Computer science” were participants in the experiment. The purpose of the experiment was to study the dynamics of education-al achievements of students whose training used virtual physics laboratories. Non-parametric sign test and Student’s test of comparison average values were used as methods of statistical analysis. Because of the experiment, the positive dynamics for all specialties were confirmed, but the largest dynamics were for the specialty 122 “Computer science”, and the smallest ones were for the specialty 014 “Secondary education (Physics)”. The best dynamics of results of IT students' achievements gives grounds to recommend to include more courses related to the study of information technologies in professional teachers’ training, because we consider this to be the cause of these results.

Application of Space-Time Patterns in Tutoring
PRESENTER: Galyna Mygal

ABSTRACT. The inevitable increase in the diversity of information flows, their processing and visualization methods exacerbates interdisciplinary problems. They lead to cognitive bias, which limits the potential of IT and intelligent learning systems. Therefore, the aim of the work is to expand interdisciplinary relations through the use of complementary space-time signatures and patterns of functioning of self-organizing objects. The object of research is the learning environment, the functioning of which is determined by the interdisciplinary ergonomic laws of mutual adaptation and transformation. They are a generalization of the extreme principles of physics, as well as the principles of cybernetics, synergetics, computer science, etc. The cognitive visualization of the space-time structure of fractal signals of various nature in the form of signatures and patterns is carried out. The basis of visualization – interdisciplinary – approach, methods, concepts and criteria. This allows us to identify hidden patterns of functioning of self-organized dynamic systems. The use of signatures and patterns of fractal signals of self-organized objects will contribute to the development of critical thinking and intuition in learning.

Interdisciplinary Approach in Physics Education Using Modeling of Physical Processes

ABSTRACT. For a long time, many people have been having difficulties with effective learning and deep understanding of various sciences, especially such fundamental ones as physics. This is a big problem as it directly affects the ability of humanity to progress, make serious life decisions, improve livelihood, etc. This issue was regarded multiple times throughout the history of humankind, but it all was of little productivity. The reason is that education is a neurobiological process and should be treated respectively. Any investigations that were not using and mentioning neuroscience could not provide precise problem description and solution. The purpose of this article is to suggest a neuroscientifically explained way to make studying and understanding of different matters easier for learners of any age by combining multiple spheres of experience (disciplines) and propose an ICT application – modeling of physical processes – based on the example of physics education. The method, overall, helps the brain improve memory, structurization and merging processes; collect more basic ideas, methods, approaches, real and abstract experience. All of these are the core of creativity, flexibility, inventiveness, problem-solving and deep comprehension, not only in physics, but also in many other fields of human life. Modeling of physical processes might greatly increase the effectiveness of the method and facilitate the learning process.
