To understand the forming mechanism through stress relaxation behavior during the process, a 3D numerical model including electromagnetic field and structural field is established by ANSYS and ABAQUS finite element code based on the principle of loose coupling method. Furthermore, the experiments was conducted on 2524-T3 aluminum alloy sheet to verify the simulation result. It is found that the new process of electromagnetic peening technology is feasible to aluminum alloy sheet parts forming.
