Abstract

The ultrasonic flow meter accesses the average velocity of flow transmission and receiving from the flow sensors. The significant role of flow meters ensures the accurate measurement of fluid flow parameters for many decades. The transit-time difference ultrasonic flow (TTDF) meter is utilized in many fields to measure the flow speed of oil, liquids, and gases. In medical diagnosis, ultrasound technology is used to detect the disease, among which TTDF measures the accurate results of average velocities of blood flow. In this work, a simulation model of TTDF for water and blood using COMSOL Multiphysics coupled with the finite element method (FEM) is designed and developed. The acoustic wave propagation of time of flight (ToF) is modeled by using discontinuous Galerkin (dG), and FEM method. The model determines the acoustic pressure and velocity for the ToF of different time intervals.
