Download PDFOpen PDF in browserBearing Mounting and Dismounting Methods Using Hydraulic TechniquesEasyChair Preprint 1074819 pages•Date: August 20, 2023AbstractDuring the process of assembling or disassembling a bearing, occasionally, damage to the components and elements is generated as a result of the application of tools or inappropriate assembly and disassembly methods that shorten the useful life of the bearing, therefore, the objective of this the technical project was to implement three application methods for the bearing assembly and disassembly module in the Corrective Maintenance Laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanics. A documentary investigation of the methods, equipment and tools existing in the industry was carried out, for the development of the installations of rotating elements of conical and cylindrical seats. Continuously with the research process, it was possible to carry out a comparison analysis between the relevant methodologies, thus, determining the greatest effectiveness. In addition, hydraulic tools were implemented based on a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, making the interference fit, the axial drive-up force and other important parameters of the nominal life of the bearing achieve greater precision. Special SKF drive-up bearing drive-up and SKF oil injection methods are selected to implement installations quickly, safely and efficiently. This added the development of laboratory guides with step-by-step processes of each methodology, highlighting practical and didactic learning, concluding with a work that demonstrates the validity of the methods in production and the importance in the bearing life cycle.
