The Tanah Miring swamp irrigation area is located in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province. The water source used in the Tanah Miring irrigation system is a rain-fed system. Over time, this rain-fed irrigation system has encountered several issues, such as flooding during the rainy season and insufficient water supply for the rice fields during the dry season. The objective of this study is to explore the potential of new water sources and the addition of infrastructure to increase agricultural production and reduce flooding. The method used to calculate flood discharge is the Nakayasu method, the reliable discharge using the F.J Mock method, tidal analysis using the least squares method, and flood modeling using HEC-RAS. The results of the flood modeling indicate that the primary channel is unable to convey the discharge during a 5-year return period, causing flooding in residential areas to a height of +0.25 m. Meanwhile, the water balance shows a water shortage that results in some rice fields being uncultivated during the second planting season. After development, the floodwater height decreased, and the area of cultivated rice fields increased. Keyphrases: Neraca Air, irigasi tadah hujan, pasang surut, pompa, tampungan sementara
