A Study of the Elemental Fecal Diseases in Thai Traditional Medicine Scripture

Abstract

The objective of this documentary research to review elemental fecal diseases in Thai Traditional Medicine textbook and Thai Traditional Medical Council textbook, selected specific elemental fecal diseases content. The research collected data on the frequency distribution of diseases and classified symptoms of elemental fecal diseases, followed by a descriptive analysis.
       The results were show in 4 dimensions consist of 1) they have total 195 elemental fecal symptoms  in 17  Thai Traditional medicine Scriptures 2) They have 3 cause of elemental fecal diseases  were severe fever and chronic, food poisoning, and the 4 elements were not function normally 3) All of which were classified to 3 groups according to diseases  symptom, the first groups has diarrhea symptom,  the second groups has constipation symptom and the third group has constipation alternating with diarrhea, there were 127, 44, and 24 symptoms, respectively. 4)  The elemental fecal disease was occurred in children and adult, there were found 58, 137 symptoms respectively.
        The result shown that the elemental fecal diseases were important because of defecation was excretion of waste product in human body for maintaining homeostasis system. If Thai Traditional Medical able to accuracy diagnosis from investigation abnormal feces, they can be treatment disease with high proficiency. Therefore, the classifying of elemental fecal diseases was very useful both of get a new knowledge and more benefit for Thai Traditional Medical professional practice.
