A Review on Curriculum Design and Malaysian Graduate Employability.

Abstract

Graduate employability issues have been discussed and become a hot topic among most of the ministry of higher education in many developed and developing countries, and Malaysia is no exception to this matter. This review paper emphases on reflection of previous study related to the curriculum design affect towards Malaysian graduate employability competency. Employability competency in this paper is assessed narrowly from curriculum design that comprises curriculum vision, operationalization of curriculum vision, curriculum delivery and evaluation. Justification and personal perspective have been given to each point discussed, which first provides the extended perspective on employability competency definition and followed by provides a landscape on how the curriculum design affects graduate employability. Methodology of this study is relying on secondary data with reviewing the literature of previous work. This study suggests the curriculum design is necessarily updated and versatile in parallel with the challenges of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the employment landscape.
