These datasets ranging from long-term meteorological observations and cryospheric measurements to biological monitoring, geophysical surveys, and environmental assessments form the empirical foundation upon which present understanding and future projections of Antarctic systems depend. In Ukraine, the state institution National Antarctic Scientific Center (NASC) plays a central role in ensuring that such information is systematically collected, curated, and made accessible to the research community. As the operator of Ukraine’s long-standing Antarctic programme and station, NASC is responsible not only for generating new data but also for maintaining the scientific integrity of its program over decades. The aim of this paper is to articulate the conceptual principles and practical considerations that should guide NASC in adopting such standards, identifiers, and open-science infrastructures. By outlining a cohesive vision for data interoperability and long-term stewardship, the article seeks to contribute to establishing a sustainable, globally aligned framework that will enhance the resilience, accessibility, and scientific value of Ukraine’s Antarctic research outputs.
