Graphite, being commonly used material as base for precision measuring instruments is selected for experimentation and hence required high level of accuracy. By making slight modifications in the conventional lapping process, enhanced level of resulting surface finish can be achieved. In the current experiment, static pressure plate is replaced by vibratory mechanism. Analysis of variance has been carried out to identify the most influencing input parameter on the response parameters by performing series of experiments.Keyphrases: anova, doe, lapping, surface roughness, vibration In: Ajitkumar Shukla, J.
