Call for Research and Industry Papers

Big data and smart computing are emerging research fields that have been drawing much attention from diverse disciplines including computer science, information technology, and social sciences. The goal of the International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp), initiated by KIISE (Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers), is to provide an international forum for exchanging ideas and information on current studies, challenges, research results, system developments, and practical experiences in these emerging fields among researchers, developers, and users from academia, business and industry. Following the successes of the previous BigComp conferences in Bangkok, Thailand (2014), Jeju, Korea (2015), Hong Kong, China (2016), Jeju, Korea (2017), Shanghai, China (2018), Kyoto, Japan (2019), Busan, Korea (2020), Jeju, Korea (2021), Daegu, Korea (2022), Jeju, Korea (2023), Bangkok, Thailand (2024), Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia (2025), Guangzhou, China (2026), the 2027 IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (IEEE BigComp 2027) will be held in Fukuoka, Japan. IEEE BigComp 2027 invites authors to submit original research papers and as well original work-in-progress reports on big data and smart computing.

Paper Categories and Page Limits

IEEE BigComp 2027 invites the following types of paper submissions:

• Research and industry papers: full papers, up to 8 pages
• Research and industry papers: short papers, up to 4 pages
• Poster papers: up to 2 pages

Important Dates

Submission

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the IEEE two-column conference paper format. Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be considered. Page limits, including all references and appendices, are 8 pages for full research and industry papers, 4 pages for short research and industry papers, 2 pages for poster papers, and 4 pages for demonstration papers.

When submitting, please select the appropriate track (Research and Industry Papers, Posters, or Demonstration) and, for research and industry papers, choose the correct category (Research or Industry, Full or Short). Please select all relevant topics; if your work does not fit the listed topics, select "Others" together with the closest related topic(s).

Research and industry papers and poster papers are reviewed double-blind. Please remove author names, affiliations, and any other identifying information from your manuscript.At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to present the paper in person at the conference. Online presentation may be considered only in exceptional cases where unavoidable circumstances prevent in-person attendance, subject to approval by the conference organizers.

Demonstration papers are reviewed single-blind; author information may be included in the manuscript.
At least one author of each accepted demonstration is expected to present it in person at the conference. Authors of demonstration papers are encouraged to provide a demonstration video (up to 5 minutes). Instead of uploading a file, please enter a URL to the video (e.g., an unlisted YouTube link or Google Drive) in the "Demonstration video URL" field of the submission form, and ensure the link is accessible to reviewers.
