"Digital Twins: Key Concepts and Integration with AI"
Editors: Bedir Tekinerdogan and Cor Verdouw
Publisher: Elsevier
Digital twins represent one of the most exciting advancements in the digital transformation landscape, bridging the physical and digital worlds. Initially developed to enhance manufacturing processes, digital twins have rapidly evolved to encompass a wide range of applications across various industrial domains, including healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, energy, and aerospace. These virtual replicas enable predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and advanced decision-making by leveraging real-time data and simulation. Together with the parallel developments in systems engineering and artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins are poised to redefine how complex systems are designed, operated, and optimized. This book aims to explore how the integration of these fields can support the development and effective use of digital twins, providing insights into both theoretical advancements and practical implementations.
We are pleased to invite authors to contribute chapters for an upcoming edited volume titled "Digital Twins: Key Concepts and Integration with AI". This book will provide comprehensive insights into digital twin technology, covering foundational concepts, integration with advanced digital solutions, and applications in various sectors. We welcome contributions that cover theoretical aspects, case studies, or address the challenges and future research opportunities related to digital twins.
