Global pandemic COVID 19 has taught the world one great lesson that the whole world faces this problem together and the revival will also be possible only if the world stays together. The recent estimate of the contraction of global economy by 3% and the forecast that it may take nations a few years to recover the shock of the pandemic leaves many questions unanswered – How and when does the world see the next phase of economic revival and growth? Businesses are nothing but the minds of managers enlivening institutions. But managers are human beings who face the first challenge of their personal survival before they can start thinking of institutional survival. The quintessence however remains that human survival alone can lead to business survival. So the top most priority for the world today is healthcare - mental, physical and social care for everyone in every business, non-business, formal, informal institution, if it needs to resuscitate and rebuild itself. This will leave institutions fending for funds to nurture their human assets and this investment may not lead to immediate returns except for strong employer loyalty and overall trust from all its stakeholders. Globally the world was already seeing an imminent recession; COVID 19 has accelerated its coming and catalyzed its impact on economic collapse. Strategizing for businesses especially with lack of liquidity, demand and credit is the most complicated business problem that needs to be resolved by managers today. The unprecedented and unpredictable nature of the problem will not allow use of any case study based solution or a pre-modelled forecast of inherent risk and return. Many questions remain unanswered today and many more will open up as the pandemic unfolds in its contraction phase. The International Conference on “Strategizing for Future: The Post COVID Economic Order” will allow deliberations from a variety of perspectives to deal with challenges posed by the pandemic COVID 19 and strive to propose strategies to stimulate growth and revival from the imminent recession.
