We invite paper submissions for CyberEDU, a cyber security training and awareness Call for papers to be presented within several conferences in 2019.
Under the auspices of the Romanian and Finnish Presidencies of the Council of the EU and in partnership with main European and international stakeholders, we aim to stir the discussion to produce a book with several short papers from this call.
Cyber security training and awareness is a topic of intense debate. Generally, all decision makers agree it should take THE prime spot on the agenda and this is even reflected in the national cyber strategies all around the EU. But when discussing investments in both public and private organisations there is a proven lack of follow-up most of the time. Being under budgeted for years it leaves place for little improvement and never ending repetition of this well-known myth ‘human as the weakest link’.
We established a round table process for discussions (available HERE) and this Call for Papers in order to support dismantling this MYTH commonly used in cyber security. We aim at creating synergies under a new paradigm ‘humans as the last line of defence’ in cyber security and offer more ideas for cyber skills within a life long learning context.
Some examples of topics to consider for your submission:
- New ways to train the users;
- Innovative technologies of good use in training;
- Mind the gap: certifications;
- Focus on automation vs role of the user;
- Threat landscape for CyberEDU;
- Your approach on building up a cyber awareness programme;
- Use of Hands on training;
- What about training the policy makers?
- Best practice in legislation supporting the cyber education field;
- Introduction of gamified elements in cyber training
