The Twin Cities ACM Chapter invites students, faculty and professionals to CADSCOM 2019, the 2nd research Colloquium on Analytics, Data Science and Computing, on October 26. CADSCOM 2019 features prominent keynotes, an industry-faculty panels, and peer-reviewed and invited paper presentations.

REGISTER TODAY: Free to ACM Members, Students and Educators. $99 Cost to Professionals. The $350 conference fee has been eliminated or reduced thanks to generous financial and in-kind sponsorship by the MinnState IT Center of Excellence (lead sponsor), Metro Analytics Club at Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University Mankato, and MSU Mankato's D.R.E.A.M. Club.

Call for Presentations - Submission Guidelines
Abstract and Paper Submission
Abstract (Due by 9/29/19 or earlier, rolling weekly review): Faculty, students, and professionals are encouraged to submit abstracts for oral presentations during the Colloquium. Abstracts will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, and no later than September 15, 2019. Submit a 2-page abstract that describes the research problem, methodology, conclusions, and references. All submissions need to be original work not published anywhere else.
Full Paper and Proceedings (Due by 11/11/2019): Once your abstract is accepted, you will be added to the Colloquium program when you register and will present on October 26, 2019. Additionally, if your abstract is accepted, you are invited to submit your full manuscripts for consideration of publication in the official Proceedings of the 2019 Colloquium by November 1. All submissions need to be original work not published anywhere else. These initial submissions are accepted, or recommended for acceptance with revision (with an opportunity to revise and re-submit by November 20).
Submission Directions
Submit the abstract and the full paper (optional) to EasyChair. The abstract submissions are limited to 2 pages, and full papers are limited to 6 pages, including all content and references. All submissions must be in PDF format and formatted according to the format guidelines. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME OR ANY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN THE DOCUMENT to facilitate a double-blind review, and we will track submissions using a submission record number.

Important Policies
- For each accepted abstract, at least one author must attend the Colloquium to present the paper.
- The author(s) must take full responsibility for the entire content of their paper.
- All submissions will go through a blind peer review process.
- Submitted papers will be evaluated based on their clarity, quality, potential impact, and reproducibility.
List of Topics
Organizations are seeking to harness data to improve decision-making, foment innovation, and discover insights. The purpose of CADSCOM is to promote and disseminate novel and cutting-edge ideas that can improve the understanding of concepts, challenges, opportunities, and technology related to real-world data projects. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Data Infrastructure and Computing: cloud and high-performance computing, big data systems and programming models, software techniques and architecture for grid, parallel, graph, and in-memory computing, containerization, data stream processing.
- Data Management: data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, distributed databases, best practices in data collection, ingestion, extraction, integration, and cleaning, data governance frameworks, data strategy.
- Data Analytics: concepts and techniques of data visualization, statistical theories and applications, predictive models and applications, geo-spatial analytics.
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised, and reinforcement learning models, transfer learning, text and social media analytics, natural language processing, deep learning algorithms and architectures, image and speech recognition, ML model deployment, ML as a Service.
- Data Ethics and Security: privacy and ethical issues and solutions, best practices in data security, data encryption algorithms and techniques, social impact and implications for big data analytics.
- Big Data Applications: novel applications of big data in sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, healthcare, retail, finance, education, manufacturing, transportation, and other domains.
- Emerging Technologies: blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), quantum computing, autonomous vehicles, etc.
- Business Management and Strategy-making: Applications of advanced business analytics in management and governance.

Distinguished Keynotes
- Dr. Chuck Easttom, Texas, US - Quantum Quantum Computing and Artificial IntelligenceThe current state of the field will be explored. This includes discussion of current research in implementing machine learning in quantum environments. Then the potential impact for quantum computing on synthetic consciousness will be explored. This will explore a range of topics including the ramification of Penrose’s ORCH-OR theory in a quantum computing environment. Finally, current advances in quantum information theory will be discussed. Speaker bio: Dr. Chuck Easttom is the author of 27 books, including several on computer security, forensics, and cryptography. He has also authored scientific papers on digital forensics, cyber warfare, cryptography, and applied mathematics. He is an inventor with 16 computer science patents. He holds a Doctor of Science in cyber security (dissertation topic: a study of lattice-based algorithms for post quantum cryptography) and three master's degrees (one in applied computer science, one in education, and one in systems engineering). He is currently working on a second doctorate with an emphasis in nanotechnology and bioengineering (dissertation topic: The Effects of Nonlinear Dynamics on Nanotechnology and Bioengineering). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Senior Member of the ACM as well as a member of IACR (International Association of Cryptological Research) and INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering). He is also a Distinguished Speaker of the ACM (Association of Computing Machinery). and a frequent speaker at conferences.
