The annual meeting of the American Ecological Engineering Society provides an opportunity for professionals (scientists, engineers, and policymakers) as well as students in the field to share ideas while fostering education, outreach, and professional development. With this meeting, we hope to further demonstrate the scope of Ecological Engineering and how the field’s core principles are used to solve environmental challenges. The key purpose of the meeting is to allow science and engineering students to showcase their work in the field, and bring them together with industry professionals who can provide guidance and insights to entering the industry.
Presentation Submission Guidelines
This meeting will have both oral and poster presentations. Submissions will be done ahead of the conference via the Easychair.org program management tool.
Oral Presentations
1. Presentation files will be submitted ahead of the conference via the Easychair.org program management tool.
2. Once you login as an 'author' (session chairs have a different login option), go to the specific presentation you are submitting.
3. Once you see the presentation's page, look for the "Add file" option in the upper right corner of the window.
4. From there, you will be able to submit your presentation file as a .pptx, .ppt or .pdf
5. Oral presentations will be 15 minutes long, plus up to 3 minutes for questions.
6. Make sure to submit your presentation file no later than Monday June 5 at 14:00.
7. If you do not submit your presentation file on Easychair by Monday June 5, make sure you bring a backup copy of your presentation in a USB drive to the conference. Come see us at the Help Desk.
Posters
1. Posters will be presented in two 1-hour long sessions on the afternoon of June 7. Student posters will be judged and the best three will receive an award.
2. The maximum display area of the poster board is 36 in x 48 in. It is suggested that each poster does not exceed 36 inches high by 48 inches wide. Posters will be mounted on boards, and displayed on easels.
3. A numbered panel will be allocated for each poster as listed in the Technical Program. We highly encourage poster presenters to upload electronic versions of their posters to Easychair.org to allow attendees to review them outside the poster session.
Student Poster Competition
Student posters can be included in the optional Student Poster Competition. Judges will be from academia, industry, etc. Prizes will be awarded at the AEES Lunch Business Meeting on Thursday and will be $300 for First Place, $200 for Second Place, and $100 for Third Place. We will also have a People's Choice Award that will be determined by popular vote. Please note that judges will score engagement and answering of questions, so be sure to be at your poster during the Poster Session so judges can engage with you.
