The 23rd Annual Conference of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Logistics Research Network (LRN), will take place from the 5th to 7th September 2018 at Plymouth University. As re-shoring, regionalisation and developments in data management reshape global logistics systems, logistics and supply chain managers face unprecedented challenges. To promote integrated, sustainable operations, the 2018 Conference theme will focus on how researchers can assist managers in shaping logistics business and policy. The Conference will showcase the latest research in logistics and operations management, international shipping, trade, supply chain and procurement management available to industry professionals.
The LRN Conference welcomes researchers and practitioners from diverse logistics and supply chain areas, and in all sectors, to publish their research work and industrial case studies. The topics covered (but not limited to) are listed below.

Authors wishing to prepare a paper for the conference are invited to submit a (strictly no more than) 500-word abstract for consideration by the programme committee.Papers with a strategic focus, theoretical analysis or operational research are welcome. This is to include both complete work and ongoing research (especially PhD projects.) Presentations of results from industrial work and “Insights from Industry” provided by practitioners are highly desirable.
Abstracts should be structured to include the following:
Title of paper
Authors (including affiliation and email)
Abstract
Purpose: Explain the purpose of your research
Research Approach: Explain the research approach; eg exploratory, theory, empirical, qualitative, quantitative
Findings and Originality: Explain your key findings here. If this is work in progress, explain any intermediate findings
Research Impact: Describe the impact from a research point of view.
Practical Impact: Describe the managerial/policy implications of your research.
EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION - Abstracts must be submitted online at: https://easychair.org/cfp/2018LRN-Conference and received by Friday 27 April 2018.
When you access the EasyChair site you will need to register, if you are not already registered, before you can access the submission page. Registration is free. Once logged on, please follow the on-screen prompts, and click on the “New Submission” tab to start the process. Make sure to read the Submission Instructions before continuing.
All authors will be informed by Tuesday 1st May 2018 whether their paper has been accepted. The email will consist of information for final paper preparation and further instructions for registration. All those whose paper is accepted, will be expected to have one (or more) of the paper’s authors pay the registration fee and attend the conference to present. Please note: authors must be available for all three days of the conference to allow programme scheduling of papers.
Final papers need to be received by Friday 22nd June 2018.
