Abstract:
The new era of digitalized technology significantly changes the way the industries works including storing and protecting their records. Regardless of how industries are now adapting into global transactional records, data security and vulnerability persists as threatening concern. Blockchain offers high security in data encryption to address fraud and cybercrime, resulting a large agile value chains, securing customers’ trust, and flexible integration with other technology as such Internet of Things and cloud computing to formulize efficient and secure transferable wide range collaboration between industry allies and government sector. The current state of blockchain technology is capable in driving productive innovation on many sectors. Blockchain potentials is recognized for its role in transforming traditional industry to-ward industry 4.0. This paper overviews significant developments of block-chain technology usage in information systems of many industries. The overview helps to understand the blockchain development and deduces the factors that bring innovation to industry. We conducted a systematic review on existing studies pertinent to formulated research questions and observe current technical approaches to critically apprise the relevant blockchain implementation in industries. We classified recent literature by identifying blockchain use cases in different type of industrial sector, as well the innovations brought by blockchain features. Furthermore, this paper present and discuss emerging trends on blockchain implementation among use cases and its classification. Moreover, research opportunities in future blockchain are highlighted to invite the researchers and industries for collaboration in adopting blockchain into industrial data-storing works
