This study aims to investigate the influence of adding a polymer modifier to concrete. Two modifiers were used, these being PVA and SBR. Concrete properties, including slump, density, and compressive strength were evaluated and the correlation between these key properties was also investigated. The results showed that the PVA modifier, after hardening, was able to produce a continuous polymer layer that effectively sealed the internal pores, recording an increase in density by 1.49% and a noteworthy increase in compressive strength by 23.73% compared to the reference. Furthermore, the PVA-modified concrete exhibited a 35.18% higher compressive strength than the SBR-modified concrete mix. However, this enhanced flowability was associated with increased air entrainment, requiring a higher dosage of defoamer than the other mixes.
