National Emergency Supply Agency commissioned a preliminary study from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences to investigate the possibilities and interest of universities in creating a cyber security education and testing environment for various automation systems. The environment would be a shared network with dedicated connections. The survey was targeted at Finnish higher education institutions with education in this field. The survey was conducted in autumn 2024 in two separate surveys. The results of the survey show that there is interest in the topic and a perceived need for it. Only a few higher education institutions have taken practical steps in this area. If implemented, the network would support regional expertise in particular.
