Abstract:
As the boundaries between physical and digital worlds blur, Metaverse Tourism is emerging as a groundbreaking domain, promising immersive experiences and limitless possibilities for exploration. However, this rapid development raises critical concerns regarding data privacy and security, necessitating a comprehensive investigation into these issues. This research paper is dedicated to addressing these concerns, proposing solutions, and shedding light on the current state of research in this field. The primary objective of this paper is to identify, analyze, and mitigate the privacy and security challenges that arise within the metaverse tourism ecosystem. As a metaverse is a virtual world where users can interact with one another, share information, and explore diverse environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal and sensitive data becomes a paramount concern. In this context, this study endeavors to provide practical solutions that not only safeguard the privacy and security of metaverse tourists but also promote the growth and development of this emerging industry. To provide a foundation for this research, conducted a bibliometric analysis of existing literature in the field. By analyzing a diverse range of scholarly works, aimed to gain insights into the current state of research, identify key trends, and understand the most pressing issues related to data privacy and security in metaverse tourism. This analysis served as a precursor to our proposed solutions, allowing us to build upon the existing knowledge and tackle the challenges more effectively. This paper aims to contribute to the academic discourse on metaverse tourism while also providing actionable recommendations to protect the privacy and security of tourists in this exciting new world.
