Limited awareness of its applications and opportunities hinders human talent development, the consolidation of communities of practice, and the demand for space capabilities. To address this gap, Fundación Cydonia developed an integrated science communication and public engagement strategy centered on the Simulated Space Exploration Analog Habitat in Colombia (HAdEES-C). The strategy brings space exploration and related technologies closer to diverse audiences through different levels of interaction and participation. The first level included immersive experiences such as guided habitat tours, activities related to the Artemis program, and events focused on space milestones, transforming concepts and technologies into tangible experiences. A second level focused on students through STEM workshops, hands-on activities, and interaction with researchers and volunteers, promoting scientific and technological vocations. A third level expanded the initiative through webinars, social media content, and the podcast “Escogemos Hacerlo” (“We Choose to Do It”), which explores the history of space exploration through cinema. The Foundation also supported national and international events, including Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) activities, strengthening connections among communities, academia, and industry. As of August 2026, these initiatives have reached approximately 700 direct participants. The results highlight the potential of analog habitats as platforms for research, science communication, STEM education, and the strengthening of emerging space ecosystems in Latin America.
