Time series analysis is one of the most popular branches of statistics. Time series are ubiquitous and find their utilization in many fields. Time Series Classification (TSC) is a challenging task with importance in a wide range of fields including data mining, machine learning, signal processing, statistics etc. Prominently, k-NN with Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) is considered to be the most significant approach towards TSC. Consequently, this presentation provides an overview of six scientific research papers in terms of their scientific problem studied and the approach formulated constituting towards the area of k-NN based time series classification.
