The same is true for online universities. This study examines the best way to intervene with online learners by analyzing the relationship be-tween their learning history, learning patterns, and final grades. While it was as-sumed that students who study on average throughout the study period would perform better, this study shows that how quickly students complete their first study may have a greater impact on their final grade than if they study on average throughout the study period. This revealed the possibility that it would be better to send encouraging messages to students a little earlier than previously, around the middle of the study period.
