Abstract:
The growing need to stay competitively ahead in this knowledge era has drastically changed the performance expectations of HEIs. Knowledge Management (KM) has become crucial for institutional effectiveness, performance, and innovation as it provides academic institutions with strategies for attaining a competitive advantage. Several Critical Success Factors (CSF) have been identified in previous studies as determinants of KM Success. However, the research in this area is fragmented. This study provides a holistic view for researchers interested in understanding the factors that enable KM integration in HEI. The study is based on 17 articles retrieved from top-ranked journals and finalized by applying the process of systematic review protocols. Results show that organizational culture is the topmost factor of success in all the studies. Knowledge-sharing is the most frequently researched process, closely followed by knowledge creation.
