In this paper, a modified and enhanced multi-swarm Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm based Meeting Room Approach (MPSO) with Tent Logistic map is proposed. The proposed modified version of MPSO algorithm is utilized for generating strong 8×8 substitution boxes (S-Box). Chaotic Ten map is used for updating the velocities of each leader in the meeting room, which enhances the movements of the leaders. In which, the exploration ability of MPSO will be enhanced. The generated S-box is validated using cryptographic performance evaluation criteria such as nonlinearity, bijectivity, strict avalanche criteria, bit independence criteria, differential probability and linear approximation probability. The obtained results showed that the proposed algorithm was better than other state-of-arts algorithms, and proved that it is capable of withstand cryptanalysis attacks.
