Learning objectives: How to transform and optimize a large organization using Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps and Agile principles as part of IBM’s Journey to the Cloud strategy.

We will discuss how the Managed Applications business unit evolved into an innovative organization ready to support the Multicloud Packaged Applications Management Offering (#10) in IBM’s 14 in 4 Journey to Cloud strategy.

Expected Outcomes: Improve the performance and availability of your organization’s products and services using SRE, DevOps and Agile principles, in order to accelerate your alignment with IBM’s Journey to the Cloud strategy.

Examples of customer situations: As a result of our restructuring into agile teams combining development & delivery engineers, we had the focus on core VM provisioning in Multicloud as a top priority to tackle. Then the system was designed using SRE principles to make it more robust, resilient, and scalable. It also greatly reduced end-to-end provisioning time of customer VMs from 8 hours to 45 minutes, and significantly minimized human errors.
