Its objective is to promote hands-on learning in physics, aerodynamics, and engineering, while fostering interest in the aerospace sector and STEM disciplines. The initiative seeks to address the region's lack of educational opportunities by providing real-world experiences in design, simulation, and technological validation. The methodology is based on project-based learning, with participants developing rockets capable of meeting specific objectives such as stability, flight efficiency, and recovery mechanisms. The process involves experimental analysis, optimization, and creativity, encouraging both research and collaboration. The 2026 edition saw the participation of 33 teams (13 university and 20 high school), comprising approximately 200 students from various regions of the country. This diversity facilitated knowledge exchange and highlighted the growing interest in STEM fields. The results confirm the viability of establishing a national competition and pave the way for future participation from across Central America. Hidrochallenge has established itself as an effective educational and science outreach tool, enabling the application of knowledge in practical settings and the strengthening of technical skills. It represents a significant step forward for aerospace initiatives in Costa Rica and the region, creating environments that drive innovation, science, and high-level technical training. | ||||
