This revolution transcends the modernization of physical infrastructure, incorporating advanced technologies that enable the integration of renewable sources, bidirectional networks, and intelligent management. By applying the Smart Energy concept to Agribusiness, we seek to address the challenges of seasonality and geographic dispersion of agricultural activities. This article presents an international situational diagnosis on the implementation of Smart Energy in Agribusiness through a mixed methodology that combines systematic review of 30 representative articles with bibliometric analysis of 11,666 scientific publications. The results reveal four paradigmatic transformations in historical evolution and eight emerging trends that shape the field. Integrating distributed systems, intelligent energy storage, and Energy Cloud platforms adapted to rural realities stand out among the identified trends. The study identifies critical gaps in agricultural machinery electrification, integration between energy storage and bioenergy, and the development of specific regulatory frameworks and sustainable business models. This diagnosis contributes to the consolidation of knowledge in agribusiness about Smart Energy. It offers insights for researchers, developers, and policymakers interested in accelerating the intelligent energy transition in the sector.
