HPSC's architecture incorporates a 64-bit RISC-V multicore computing complex, advanced temporal and physical separation, Dual-Core Lockstep (DCLS), radiation-hardened-by-design (RHBD) physical design, enhanced Total Ionizing Dose (TID) performance, and a dedicated System Controller for continuous health monitoring and fault detection. These features enable HPSC to operate as a high reliability and availability edge computing platform for deep space missions. This paper will explore how these features enable maximum fault tolerance through various use cases across hardware, software, and flight software implementations. Additionally, through analysis of specific mission scenarios and operational configurations, this paper will further demonstrate how these comprehensive fault tolerance mechanisms enable HPSC to maintain operational integrity in harsh space environments while delivering high-performance computing capabilities for mission-critical applications. | ||||
