Abstract:
This article discusses the impacts of the ongoing energy transition on electricity consumption and production in Finnish electricity distribution networks, focusing primarily on the grid area of Tampereen Energia Sähköverkko Oy. The energy transition, which includes improving energy efficiency and switching to renewable energy sources, significantly changes the operation of electricity distribution networks. The study aims to analyze how the energy transition is already visible in the operations of network companies and what historical trends can be observed. The results show that small-scale production plants are growing in the network both in number and power. New customers acquire larger connections and some old customers increase their connection agreements. The results can be utilized, for example, when planning electricity distribution and building automation.
