Abstract:
Water, an indispensable element of life, has been a fundamental resource for the sustainability and development of human civilization since its inception. Throughout history, societies have settled around water sources, developed advanced irrigation systems, and devised strategies to preserve and manage these resources. However, arid and semi-arid regions worldwide present a unique paradox of water challenges and scarce environments rich in technology and innovation. One such paradigm is exemplified by Jaipur’s traditional water management system, which is a testament to human ingenuity during times of adversity. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, lies in the semi-arid desert region of India. This geographical location has a unique combination of weather conditions with extremely hot summers and uneven and scant rainfall throughout the year.
