Maintenance of technical systems is of particular importance in the era of growing competition and ever higher requirements in quality, reliability, and productivity of organizations' functions and tasks. The main challenge for the maintenance manager is to structure maintenance procedures and activities to be undertaken to achieve the strategic objectives associated with them. This requires the provision of technical skills, techniques, and methods to properly utilize assets like factories, power plants, vehicles, equipment, and machines. Therefore, it is important to find an optimal solution to ensure the continuity of operational processes in the technical systems. Therefore, in the article the authors proposed a method for maintenance resource sharing for production systems in the context of physical asset maintenance management concept. Thus, the paper includes the short introduction to the maintenance problems. Later, short literature review in the analyzed research area is provided. Next section introduces a method for maintenance resource sharing in the context of physical asset maintenance management concept, which implementation possibilities are discussed in a case study. The presented paper gives the possibility to identify research gaps and possible future research directions connected with physical asset maintenance problems in industrial organizations.
