The reconfiguration of the world of work demands new ways of becoming a teacher, requiring them to resignify their work. This study aimed to identify pleasure and suffering in the daily life of postgraduate teachers in the light of Work Psychodynamics. A descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed at a university in the western part of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, in its seven Stricto Sensu programs, involving 14 teachers, two per program, who answered a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed by Thematic Analysis and the research was approved by the institution's ethics committee. It was identified the presence of pleasure and suffering in the daily life of the teacher, in a relation of coexistence, being the individual strategies preponderant in the confrontation of the same ones. Suggests listening strategies as one of the possibilities to minimize suffering at work.
