The following article is a critical analysis of the design process from a colonial perspective, tracing its evolution from the Industrial Revolution to contemporary capitalism. It seeks to highlight that design is a process of inequality generated by whiteness, alienating the working class and elevating the elite. Furthermore, it examines how the outcome of its methodology (the product itself) categorizes people into socioeconomic classes, creating an identity disconnected from their reality and perpetuating inequalities. The article aims to demonstrate that this process utilizes methodological tools of control, such as Design Thinking, the Golden Ratio, Le Corbusier's Modulor, and other organizing principles, all of which are based on whiteness. It also shows how this inequality leads to environmental degradation. Finally, it analyzes how design and architecture academia has internalized this methodology, reproducing exclusionary frameworks from generation to generation.
