The following research addresses the territorial co-design of the Jíi lighting collection, crafted from wild Shiringa latex sustainably harvested by indigenous Awajún communities in the Peruvian Amazon. Confronting historical dynamics of extractivism and deforestation, this study is framed within Transition Design and cosmopolitan localism to propose a regenerative production model. Through a multi-stakeholder collaborative network, the project validates the technical, ecological, and aesthetic viability of natural rubber as an alternative to fossil-based polymers in contemporary industrial design. Beyond its material dimension, the product serves as a tool for territorial sovereignty and gender empowerment. By hybridizing ancestral knowledge with circular manufacturing, this work demonstrates that design can challenge hegemonic supply chains and establish a paradigm rooted in socio-environmental reciprocity.
